BROADCASTS ACROSS GLASGOW ON 87.9FM

24 HOURS A DAY: 5th – 20th September, 2026

RADIOPHRENIA is a radio art collective, festival and art radio station broadcasting intermittently across Glasgow on 87.9FM and online.

 

The broadcast schedule for our 2026 edition includes a series of 20 newly commissioned radio works, public Live-to-Air performances, live in-studio shows and performances, long-form works, shorts and pre-recorded features. In making this year’s selections we were assisted by guest curator Semay Wu. Through our public engagement programme we have been working with seven different community groups to realise a new series of sound and radio works.

 

As in previous years the majority of the programme will be made up from selections submitted to an international open call for sound art and radio works. This year we have received so many submissions that we felt it necessary to extend our broadcast across an additional weekend just to squeeze it all in.

 

The station aims to promote radio as an art form, encouraging challenging and radical new approaches to the medium. Radiophrenia first began broadcasting in April 2015 with subsequent editions in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2025.
